Step 2: Map organizational preparedness

Did you know there are tools like The Interprofessional Collaborative Organization Map and Preparedness Assessment you can use to see if you are ready for interprofessional collaboration? Without preparing your organization first, you may stumble out of the gate and lose momentum.

We offer support to help you explore various readiness tools and make sure you pick the one that is best for you—or even create your own. We have found through our experience helping test team-based care in two academic nurse-managed centers and a Federally Qualified Health Center that your practice may need more time than expected to establish interprofessional experiences and clearly communicate the benefits to patients.

Topics covered during this step include getting the right people at the table in order to begin inventorying organizational knowledge, skills, and abilities.
